LE MAXQUE "INVADES THE WORLD'S MUSIC TERRAIN"

‘ Le Maxque ’ Invades The World’s Music Terrain….

Artist popularity has come a long way in the history of showbiz. Branding an artist successfully is one of the challenging mechanisms every producer & promoter faces in the music industry. This classifies artist image no different from the branding of any commodity in a super market. Countless artists have been desperately stretching their creativity to deliver themselves in a unique way but the world has never seen such daring image presentation we are here to introduce to our dear readers.

Our feature today takes us all the way to Ghana in west Africa where innovation in artist image management is facing a serious controversial challenge with the emergence of Le Maxque…the singer and live performer who wears an African war mask as his show biz identity…making him utterly invisible when he unmasked to live a private life..

Born on 10th August 1969, in Ghana to Togoliase parents, Le Maxque grew up just like one of the local boys, but with one difference; his inborn versatile talent. He had his primary education in Ghana, at St Martin’s preparatory school, furthered at Labone Secondary School and latter acquired a diploma in film directing and playwright at the Nafti Institute. He has 35 stories to his credit, some of which are on list to be shot into movies soon…History has it that Le Maxque’s grand father was a very popular composer and singer in the 60’s.He was the chief composer and owner of a local music group then called BOBOOBO in their local language and was noted for his ability to compose songs instantly with latest rumors in and around the village. An African proverb when translated literally says, a crab cannot bring forth a bird. For this reason, the sudden appearance of an impressive and brilliant talent such as Le Maxque from this family background is no surprise to many who knows the history of the family.

Le Maxque entered the music scene in 1996 when he released his first album, followed in 1999 with a second release. The albums, ‘ MABA ’ [ I have come ] and ‘ SIKA KOKOO ’ [ gold money ] were both contemporary gospel songs that gave him a fair introduction. However, he rode on a different name then, presenting his identity clearly as any artist does…But because he wanted to do something weird and extraordinary in the music field he wasn’t satisfied with this fame.

When ever a man possess something special in him, his spirit never rest in peace until that special thing is manifested.

This was what was happening to the young man back then. So after almost 10 years of disappearance into the wilderness of life, traveling to eastern Africa, Asia, and Europe, he equipped himself with new ideas made from new cultures, music, people and believes he encountered when he joined and played with many local music groups.

In 2008,he exploded back into the music terrain with this mask concept that shook his parental homeland Togo, when his first music videos ‘Elavanyo & Amelevi ‘Remix’ hit the air ways…

Initially, there was heated ‘identity arguments ‘ across the whole land some of which were politicized. This immediately shot Le Maxque into the spot light, making him famous over night. In the middle of the arguments, he appeared on both TV and Radio to uncover the simple idea behind his mask concept…

‘That, artist branding plays a very important role in the success of his carrier. Currently publicity is the only means an artist can achieve popularity, then to success. However, because the popularity can only be achieved with funds, it’s almost impossible for many artists to gain the fame simply because they don’t have the little funds to support their publicity. So in an innovative effort to cut down cost and get quick attention from the public, I decided to wear a mask. Because as long as the public will be curious to know who is behind the mask, that was enough for the trick to work out and give me the popularity I needed to be successful. ‘

This is the most innovative artist image the world has seen in decades…We have been tracking to find out what his real name is but the mystery Le Maxque has created around him is so perfect and deep that its very difficult to find out his real name. Very few people sure know him but the picture is like, they are madly in love with his concept and they are not ready to talk, just to add more mystery to their favorite artist image.

Le Maxque's ability to make his audience shed tears of joy or whatever is something beyond perception. He is one artist who has some kind of celestial inspirations when he is on stage…His traditional African music 2008 collection ‘Elavanyo’ is something you must hear. The breath of indigenous African instruments originating from the 'Ayigbe' Clan and other Clans from Ancient Africa hundreds of years back gives his music an indigenous feel. The Elavanyo track’ itself is a master piece that cuts across all languages and barriers. Its chords progressions are not only natively heart -touching but also has the power to freeze your concentration towards the song....giving you the listener; a deep and 'realizing' relaxation...and the quest to keep listening...

Le Maxque released 2 albums and 2 Hit SINGLES all in May 2008...

Le Maxque also believes, each one of us has a special role to play in this life so he has devoted part of his life to campaign against the cause of Street Childrening & Child Trafficking. He is preparing for his first biggest charity concert in Africa in aid of the Street Child& Child Trafficking. The event, called The Forgotten Future Charity Concert Lome 2009 is scheduled to come in the capitol of Togo, Lome in March 2009…

PARIS BUILT OVER MASSIVE GRAVE CALLED "THE CATACOMBS OF PARIS"

Like most cities, at least in Europe, Paris has huge subterranean cavities, built in 2000 years of history for many purposes: quarries, religious hideout, beer cellars, subways and bunkers. Most of the excavations are located at the base of the three "mountains": Montparnasse, Montrouge and Montsouris. There are approximately 300km of galleries all together, not all of them are connected. The most extended connected system of tunnels is located under the 5th, 6th and 14th districts, and is about 100km long.

The name catacombs is derived from the usage as graves. (see catacombs) This name is sometimes used for all the underground caverns of Paris, but the tourist spot, open to the public, are the graves. They do not really promote them to tourists, but they are open to the public.

At the end of the 18th century, the government began converting several subterranean rooms into mass graves. This was necessary to meet desperate overcrowding in the medieval cemeteries in the center of Paris, which also became a hygienic problem. From 1785 to 1786, in 15 months, millions of bones and rotting corpses were tranported from the unsanitary city cemetery in Les Halles to this place. It was a monumental project to transport the bones in huge carts at night across the city.
And here they are, in huge piles, arranged as crosses, as faces and in other different configurations. Above the door outside are the words (in French): Stop! This is the empire of death. This bone collection of 5 to 6 million people has 11,000m².

Just before the Revolution, Charles X threw wild parties in the catacombs. During World War II the French Resistance set up its headquarters here. Today modern troglodytes (cave dwellers) again have parties in the underground. There are raves and restaurants, and of course all kind of subculture you may imagine. For example La Mexicaine de Perforation, an artistic movement with the intention to improve Paris by illegal occupation and restoration. Regular patrol of the police is futile, as there are virtually hundreds of kilometres of underground tunnels, nevertheless there is a special Catacombs police, colloquially called cataflics.
